This is a guest post written by Jason Gregory. Jason has 15 years
of experience working in the financial industry. He has a passion for
the environment and posts green tips on his blog We Can Be Green.

1% For The Planet (FTP) is a global movement with more than 1,200 companies donating 1% of their sales to a network of over 1,800 environmental organizations worldwide.  Since its inception in 2002, 1% FTP has become one of the largest funders of environmental work.

Why do businesses join 1% FTP?

By joining, your business can help drive positive environmental change, while gaining recognition for your responsibility. You will also have the opportunity to converse with other members, foster new business relationships, connect with like-minded individuals and share ideas and resources.

Not to mention more and more consumers are rewarding companies with their business for being responsible stewards of our planet. In addition, once your business joins, you will receive access to the 1% FTP member logos to use on your website and other marketing materials.

How does 1% FTP work?

Members make donations directly to the environmental nonprofit(s) of their choice. 1% FTP is responsible for certifying that donations are made but does not act as an intermediary. In addition to making their donations to the nonprofits, companies pay annual dues to 1% FTP to help cover their administrative costs. I was unable to find out what the annual dues are but you can call (802) 496-5408 for more information.

1% FTP is a great way for companies of all sizes to commit to positive environmental change and to be properly recognized for it. Prove to your customers that your concern for the environment is not just talk and they may be more likely to do with business with you again in the future.
