Cool Tool: Wordoid.com
I recently wrote a couple of posts over on SitePoint.com about naming a business, and after the fact, I stumbled across Wordoid.com. This is one tool you’ll want to add to your start-up toolbox if you’re looking for a unique and catchy name for a business, product, or even specific service.
It’s a simple online form that lets you specify certain criteria in order to invent a fitting word. For example, you can select if you want the word to sound natural (or not) in one of five languages, have it include another word within your invented word, and the number of letters in the word.
Based on what you input, it will give you a list of words and tell you if the domains are available and how many times each word appears on the web. It’s a really cool and fun app…and it’s addictive. Not only a great way to come up with a unique name, but also a great pastime for a Friday afternoon!
